Blackberries always feel like the first little hint that summer is nearly over and autumn is just around the corner. Think cosy nights in front of the fire, woolly jumpers, Sunday roasts and, of course, the ubiquitous blackberry and apple crumble.
Out walking the dog at this time of year, the hedgerows are teeming with berries. I love the combination of the deep black ripe fruit with those rich red berries still waiting to ripen, and couldn’t resist turning it into a pair of earrings.
These handmade silver drop earrings pair oxidised silver ovals with deep red hand-dyed anodised aluminium. The long handmade silver wires give them a lovely bit of movement as you wear them.
Lightweight and easy to wear, they're a little piece of late summer and early autumn you can carry on wearing all year round. And if you're looking for an unusual handmade gift for someone who loves nature, colour and contemporary jewellery, these could be just the thing.
All my jewellery is designed and handmade in my garden studio in Dorset, UK.
Your earrings will arrive beautifully packaged in a gift box made from recycled paper, all ready to treat yourself or give to a loved one.
The oval discs are each 12x10x1mm and the total drop of the earring at the front is approx 32mm with the back earring wire being 42mm in length.
