Evening dog walks around the Island in St Ives were always the perfect way to end the day. As you turn back towards Porthmeor beach in the dusk, there’s that wonderful view of the lights twinkling around Tate St Ives. I loved how the grass and rocks on the headland had deepened to dark greens and browns, while the sea still shone a soft aqua blue.

This round Australian Dragon Blood Jasper bead brought those colours straight back to me. Dark green like the grass on the Island, with tiny flecks of brown like the rocks. I’ve paired it with an oval of my handprinted aluminium, plain turquoise on one side and soft aqua blue on the other, printed with small irregular lines that reminded me of waves breaking on the beach. A hammered silver circle completes the cluster.

The jasper bead turns freely, revealing different colours and markings, while the aluminium gives you two shades of blue to enjoy. All three elements move and jangle together as you wear it.
