Everyone said it. You MUST watch a sunset from the Island. Luckily, my holiday cottage in St Ives was only minutes away, so I wandered out a few times at sunset in the hope of a spectacular view. This one I particularly loved. The clouds cleared just enough to create that incredible orange glow in the centre, which looked astonishing against the dark sky.
When I got home, I had to try to recreate that contrast in a piece of jewellery. I found these incredible dark blue, purple-black natural sodalite beads which reminded me so much of the clouds and paired one with a lovely orange piece of my handprinted aluminium. It’s printed with the softest lilac lines to mirror those wisps of cloud around the edges. All handmade, the aluminium is set in a brushed silver setting and I’ve added a hammered silver circle to complete the cluster necklace.
If you love a sunset, a great colour combination or simply the idea of wearing a little piece of a Cornish sky, you’re going to love this necklace. It’s satisfyingly jangly as the elements move and so easy to wear. And if you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind handmade gift, this could be the one.
All my jewellery is designed and handmade in my garden studio in Dorset, UK.
Your necklace will arrive beautifully packaged in a gift box made from recycled paper, all ready to treat yourself or give to a loved one.
The sodalite bead is measures approx 15mm in diameter and 4mm deep, the aluminium hand set in silver is approx 11x9x4mm and the silver circle is approx. 9 mm in diameter. The necklace comes with an 18” sterling silver ball chain.
