It will never get old, the sight of a kingfisher zipping up and down the river behind my house. A flash of blue and orange, and then it’s gone. However many times I see one, it always makes me smile.
 
I couldn’t resist bringing that colour combination into my jewellery. These earrings are handmade from silver and hand dyed aluminium. Alongside the bright orange, I’ve used both the darker teal and turquoise blue you find in the kingfisher’s feathers alternating them in each earring. The earrings dangle beautifully from the long handmade silver earring wires.
 
They’re lightweight and easy to wear, with plenty of movement. Treat yourself if you love colour and contemporary jewellery, or give them as a one-of-a-kind handmade gift.

The oval discs are each 12x10mm and the total drop of the earring at the front is approx 60mm with the back earring wire being 54mm in length.
