I first caught sight of it from the clifftops of the Minack Theatre. A beautiful sandy beach below, aqua blue sea rolling in and those dramatic cliffs behind it. I knew I had to get down there, and it didn’t disappoint. Wow, what a beach.
When I got home, I wanted to bring that view into my jewellery. For this necklace, I’ve used ocean jasper chip beads that echo both the colours and jagged shapes of the cliffs. An oval of my handprinted aluminium brings in the aqua blue of the sea, with a marbled pattern like the waves breaking as they roll towards the sand. A hammered silver circle completes the cluster.
There’s plenty to look at in the jasper, and the bead turns freely so you can enjoy its different colours and markings. The aqua blue aluminium is patterned on both sides too. All three pieces move and jangle together as you wear it.
If you love the softer blues of the sea, this handmade necklace is a little reminder of days spent by the coast. The irregular jasper chips give it plenty of texture and detail to enjoy. A treat for yourself, or a one-of-a-kind gift for someone who’s happiest with sand between their toes.
All my jewellery is designed and handmade in my garden studio in Dorset, UK.
Your necklace will arrive beautifully packaged in a gift box made from recycled paper, all ready to treat yourself or give to a loved one.
The ocean jasper chip beads hang from a handmade silver wire approx 20mm long, the aluminium hand set in silver is approx 20x15x1mm and the silver circle is approx. 9 mm in diameter. The necklace comes with an 18” sterling silver ball chain.
