Looking down from the Minack Theatre, I knew admiring that beach from above wasn’t going to be enough. I had to get down there. And what a view when I did. The tide was starting to come in, with the sea breaking against the cliffs. I could have watched it for hours.
Back home, I wanted to capture those deeper sea colours against the rocks. I’ve chosen a natural blue variscite sea sediment jasper bead, its mottled greens and browns echoing the cliffs. Beside it hangs an oval of my handprinted aluminium in deep greeny blue, with a marbled pattern which remind me of the rolling waves. A hammered silver circle completes the cluster.
The bead turns freely, giving you different markings to look at, and I’ve printed the aluminium on both sides so there’s a pattern whichever way it faces. The three elements move and jangle together as you wear the necklace.
This one is for anyone drawn to rich blues and greens, natural stones and jewellery with a story behind it. A handmade pendant necklace to remind you of the Cornish coast, or a one-of-a-kind gift for someone who could happily spend hours watching the waves.
All my jewellery is designed and handmade in my garden studio in Dorset, UK.
Your necklace will arrive beautifully packaged in a gift box made from recycled paper, all ready to treat yourself or give to a loved one.
The jasper bead hangs from a handmade silver wire and is approx 10mm in diameter , the aluminium hand set in silver is approx 20x15x1mm and the silver circle is approx. 9 mm in diameter. The necklace comes with an 18” sterling silver ball chain.
