I had no idea what it was called. This lanky plant that grows on the riverbank at my favourite spot by the river behind my house. I now know it's called purple loosestrife. Although the flowers are actually much more magenta pink than purple, with masses of tiny flowers clustered along tall, slender spikes.

I love watching them sway in the breeze and how different the colour looks depending on the light, from vivid pink with the sun shining through the flowers to a much deeper magenta in the shade.

I simply had to try to translate that into some jewellery. These earrings use my handprinted anodised aluminium in that same wonderful magenta pink, paired with green to represent the leaves. Both are printed with a shimmering silvery nature-inspired pattern.

They’re lightweight and easy to wear, with plenty of movement from the long silver wires. Treat yourself if you love colour and nature-inspired jewellery, or give them as a one-of-a-kind handmade gift to someone who does.

All my jewellery is designed and handmade in my garden studio in Dorset, UK.

Your earrings will arrive beautifully packaged in a gift box made from recycled paper, all ready to treat yourself or give to a loved one.

The ovals are 14 x 16 and the earrings hang approximately 48mm in total and the silver earring wires are 54mm at the back.
