You can’t help falling in love with sea pinks, those little wildflowers that blanket Cornwall’s cliff tops in spring. All that pink against the blues and greens of the sea. Hard to drag yourself away from a view like that, isn’t it?
When I got home, I wanted to capture that colour combination in my jewellery. This round Australian Dragon Blood Jasper bead reminded me of the greeny blue of the sea, with tiny flecks of brown and white like waves breaking over the rocks. I’ve paired it with an oval of my handprinted aluminium in delicious pink for the sea pinks, with an aqua blue pattern bringing a little more of the sea into the mix. A hammered silver circle completes the cluster.
There’s plenty to look at in the jasper, and the bead turns freely so you can enjoy its different colours and markings. The pink aluminium is patterned on both sides too. All three pieces move and jangle together as you wear it.
It would look lovely against a navy jumper or a simple white top, letting the pink and sea colours catch your eye. A little reminder of Cornwall to wear wherever you happen to be, or a one-of-a-kind handmade gift for someone who loves the coast and colourful contemporary jewellery.
All my jewellery is designed and handmade in my garden studio in Dorset, UK.
Your necklace will arrive beautifully packaged in a gift box made from recycled paper, all ready to treat yourself or give to a loved one.
The Australian dragon blood jasper round bead is approx 15mm in diameter, the aluminium oval is approx 12x10x1mm and the silver circle is approx. 9 mm in diameter. The necklace comes with an 18” sterling silver ball chain.
