You know autumn is just round the corner when you suddenly see the hedgerows laden with sloes. That wonderful deep, dark blue-black purple colour. I walk past an enormous patch of them on one of my regular dog walks and every time I pass them, I have to go and have a closer look.
 
But rather than make gin with them, I decided to use them as inspiration for a handmade necklace. I’ve used a wonderful natural sodalite bead in the same deep, dark blue-black purple and paired it with a piece of my handprinted aluminium in a contrasting green to mirror the leaves. All handmade, the aluminium is set in a brushed silver setting and I’ve paired the two with a brushed silver circle to complete the cluster.

The sodalite bead is  measures approx 15mm in diameter and 4mm deep, the aluminium hand set in silver is approx 11x9x4mm and the silver circle is approx. 9 mm in diameter. The necklace comes with an 18” sterling silver ball chain.
