My favourite view of the Island in St Ives was from Porthmeor beach. It’s famous for its surf and, of course, Tate St Ives overlooking the sand. But my eyes kept going back to that grassy headland, with aqua blue waves rolling in off the Atlantic and St Nicholas’s Chapel perched on top.
It was the greens against that blue that I wanted to bring home with me. I’ve cut an oval of my handprinted aluminium in grassy green, with a lighter green pattern that reminds me of the changing shades across the headland. Beside it hangs a natural aqua blue Amazonite pebble bead, threaded onto handmade silver wire. A hammered silver circle completes the cluster.
The Amazonite bead turns freely, and I’ve printed the aluminium on both sides, so there’s colour and pattern whichever way it faces. All three elements move and jangle together as you wear the necklace.
If you love aqua blue and fresh greens, this handmade pendant necklace brings those colours together with the natural markings of Amazonite. A reminder of Cornwall, or simply a piece of contemporary jewellery in colours you love. It would also make a thoughtful one-of-a-kind gift for someone who’s always happiest near the sea.
All my jewellery is designed and handmade in my garden studio in Dorset, UK.
Your necklace will arrive beautifully packaged in a gift box made from recycled paper, all ready to treat yourself or give to a loved one.
The amazonite bead hangs from a handmade silver wire and is approx 10mm long, the aluminium hand set in silver is approx 16x12x1mm and the silver circle is approx. 7 mm in diameter. The necklace comes with an 18” sterling silver ball chain.
